The book Inkheart is a fantasy book about a girl called Maggie. Maggie is a girl who loves books more than anything. She lives in Italy with her dad, Mortimer, though she calls him Mo. Mo is a book binder, he repairs and cleans old and broken books. Mo has a special power that when he reads a book aloud, the characters he reads come out of the book and into the real world. Mo has never told Maggie about his special powers. Later on in the book, some of the people that Mo accidentally read out catch up with him, the man tells him that some bad people he read out are trying to kidnap him. Mo then told maggie everything that happened. They fled away in Mo's camper van and went to Maggie's great aunts house, Elinor. Mo is then kidnapped and maggie decides to go after the people who took him. They found out a bad man called Capricorn has taken them so they go to his base, they then get captured. In Capricorns dungeon Mo tells Maggie the truth about her mother and how she disappeared. The next day Capricorn made Mo read gold out of a book. After a while of planning they all soon escape. They run away to the beach and in a couple of days, Maggie gets kidnapped again. Maggie learns that she has the special reading power too. Capricorn wanted Maggie to read a deadly demon out of the book. At the last second Maggie makes up her own words and reads them out. she saves everyone and gets her mother back.

i liked reading this book, its a fun book to read. I would rate this book an 8 out of 10
