Eva - Peter Dickinson

Eva, a thirteen-year-old girl, has been in a horrifying accident. To save her life, her brain patterns and memories are transplanted into the body of a chimp. So she has to adapt and cope with her new body and how her parents react. Eva doesn't shy away from the realities of a chimp life, grooming, eating bugs and intercourse. Eva is actually about what it means to be a chimp, and what we as humans owe to other animals.
It is set in a detailed future where the whole world is just cities and factory farms. Chimps are one of the few large animals left, and they exist in urban quarters for research and exploitation. The book looks hard at the way people act around animals and nature. But Eva's final escape with the chimps, to find a way for them to live apart from human and pass what legacy she could to them, has made this something entirely out of ordinary.
It is a moving and thoughtful story. I recommend u to read it.
